On a night that seemed to have all the season's in just a couple of hours it was great to see how many runners turned up for the 25th Jack Bloor fell race in Ilkley. My other half from BeOutdoors.co.uk who was running in her Gore Sunlight lady 3/4 capri's and her extremely useful Rab Jetstream Jacket completed the race in under one hour, well done Mrs Booth.
Me on the other hand stood in the freezing cold hail storm without my Rab Jetstream Jacket and got completely soaked whilst supporting her, not a great advert for a Women's Outdoor Clothing expert who's mantra is 'when on the hills, be prepared the weather can change quickly.'

Cycling in Gisburn

At BeOutdoors.co.uk we are keen to get our kids out to enjoy the countryside. So with bikes in tow and friends following (bad idea, map reading not my best quality) off we went to Gisburn Forest for a family bike ride. Deciding on the blue trail was a bit nerve racking as none of us had any idea of the terrain but we trusted the description of the ride (9.5 short trail suitable for novices and young riders).
With waterproofs at the ready mine a (Rab Drillium Jacket). Our group consisted of 6 independent riders and one dad with his daughter on a tag along. The course was excellent, challenging enough for all the riders but not to hard for the younger ones of the group. Fantastic!

Bank holiday weekend
At BeOutdoors.co.uk we like to test our kit and there was no better time than this weekend when we headed up to the North Yorkshire Moors with family and friends for a camping weekend. Typical for a bank holiday we had the full range of weather conditions from freezing northerlies to hail, torrential downpours and of course sunshine. We decided it was our Rab clothing section which needed a good field test. So cars packed and off we went. The Rab Microlight Vest came into it's own as soon as we arrived, with a cold wind this little vest gave a lot of warmth for such a light weight insulated number. The Rab Vapour-rise lite Jacket was worn all weekend by Steve (and no I don’t believe it was too smelly at the end). This Jacket was worn for walking, cycling and generally hanging out in. Steve will be purchasing one himself he was so impressed! Debbie wore the Rab Micro Pull-On Fleece a great fleece which fitted well and looked great with walking trousers and jeans. Finally the Rab Power Stretch top this is Sue’s own top and she loves it – great to layer, fantastic colour and great fit.
